Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Celebrates Donald Duck July 23-27

Wednesday July 18, 2007
Next week, Disney Playhouse will air a special week of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse featuring a different Donald Duck themed episode each day. The week will conclude with a new episode, "Donald's Hiccups," on FRIDAY, JULY 27 (8:30 a.m., ET/PT).

In "Donald's Hiccups," the group is getting ready to perform the classic favorite "Mickey Mouse Club" song, when Donald shows up and spreads his terrible case of the hiccups to everyone. How will they get rid of the hiccups so that the performance can go on?

In honor of the Donald Duck celebration, here are a few fun Donald facts from Disney:

  • According to The Guinness Book of World Records, Donald Duck's voice is the most popular voice to imitate, ever.
  • Only two people have ever performed Donald's voice – Clarence "Ducky" Nash (1934-1985) and his protégé, Tony Anselmo (1985-present).
  • Donald Duck made his screen debut in 1934's "The Wise Little Hen." His first starring role was in 1937's "Modern Inventions." He has starred or appeared in six feature films, seven television programs and over 150 shorts, including the Academy Award-winning, "Der Fuehrer's Face" (1943).
  • Donald first met Daisy in 1937 and has been wooing her ever since.
  • Donald hails from Ducksburg, USA, but docks his boat, Miss Daisy, in Toontown's Toon Lake. These days, he spends much of his time in the Clubhouse.
