Shrek the Third On DVD Today

The big green ogre is celebrating the holiday season this year with a DVD and an upcoming Christmas TV special. Shrek the Third is available in stores today in DVD & HD-DVD. Of course, the HD version has some exclusive interactive and web-enabled bonus features which capitalize on the new HD technology and give viewers the most ogre-sized movie experience possible. The DVD cover advertizes Shrek the Third as "The Best Shrek Yet," which I hasten to disagree with, but all these extra features do make it a great movie to own for all of us who are Shrek fans.

Shrek will also make an exciting TV appearance this holiday season in a new special, Shrek the Halls. The special will air on Wednesday, November 28 (8-8:30 p.m. ET) on ABC. With the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas returning for the show, it promises to be quite a production. So far, nothing has been finalized as far as making the special available on DVD this year, but I am hoping there will be an announcement soon.
