Are You Addicted to Your Kids' TV Shows?

Saturday August 2, 2008
Author Christine Schirato recently wrote a humorous article on OurTownOnline about how, as much as our kids' TV shows sometimes annoy us, we must admit to getting hooked on a few of them ourselves. From cartoons to tween sitcoms, something is bound to divert your attention one day, and you will find yourself watching along with the kids -- and liking it!

I will admit this happens to me when my kids watch The Backyardigans. If the music doesn't get me, usually the clever little puns and funny phrases will. I also confess that I have a very hard time not watching Cory in the House if it happens to be on. Kyle Massey is so funny in the role of Cory, and I find myself actually wanting to know what becomes of his crazy schemes.

Do your kids have any favorite shows that you secretly watch even when they aren't around?

Yeah, I have to agree. I have caught myself watching all sort of shows with the kids ranging from Witches of Waverly Place to Transformers. Maybe its just the “kid” in me… :)

Very appropriate blog post here! I’m finding myself starting to get hooked on watching the Disney Channel shows with my oldest girl, like Hanna Montana and the Suite Life. Yes, I’ve even watched them after my girls have gone to bed. And if I was a teenager again I’d be chasing after the Jonas Brothers.
