This Year's Best DVDs for Preschoolers
Each year, many DVDs are released that are geared toward or appropriate for preschoolers. Many of these DVDs are collections of episodes from TV shows. These collections are useful for going on road trips or plane rides, when the TV or DVR is not available, but it just seems like they should offer something more if we're going to pay for what we can just turn on the TV and watch or record.
As the holiday season approaches, I've come up with a list of DVDs for preschoolers (2008 releases) that feature movies, or double-length episodes at least, that are fun and educational for preschoolers. The list has some great theatrical releases, like Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! (available on DVD on December 9), which are or will soon be available on DVD. Also included are fun and educational double-length features from kids' favorite TV shows, like Dora Saves the Snow Princess, featuring the new voice of Dora and the show's new and improved format.
Does your preschooler have a favorite DVD for this year? Or one that will soon be released? Are there any must-have DVD stocking stuffers? In our family, we were very excited for the Tinker Bell movie. I love doing gifts around themes, so the Tinker Bell movie and related toys, dolls, coloring books and such are all on my shopping list for gifts and fun gift baskets this year.

I have never seen my four year old daughter more excited about anything more than the Tinkerbell movie–and the related products are all that she wants for X-mas, while my two and a half year old son is crazy for Dora. Thanks for all of the great suggestions.
