If you have a preschooler who is a fan of Handy Manny, the Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse, or Tigger & Pooh, you may have seen the DVDs featuring episodes and specials from these shows. Some of those DVDs have a bonus feature called "Discovery Mode," which allows the child to answer fun and educational questions embedded in the episodes. In the past, kids had to navigate the DVD player remote control in order to answer the questions, but now parents can get the Mickey Mote. This little Mickey shaped remote control allows kids to answer the questions using the four shape buttons that correspond with the shapes shown by the answers on the screen. The Mickey Mote is simple to program and easy for kids to use. Read a full review of the Mickey Mote, or write your own review of the Mickey Mote to help other parents make the decision to buy or not to buy.
Two new Disney titles including a Mickey Mote are available today: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey's Number Roundup and Handy Manny: Big Construction Job. There are also currently about 10 Disney DVDs for preschoolers that already contain Discovery Mode and will work with the Mickey Mote. The list price for the DVD plus Mickey Mote is $29.99, however, I have seen the DVD/Mote combo for as low as $23.49 online -- which isn't a bad deal, especially if you have a child who is really into the Disney shows for preschoolers. Out just in time for the holidays, the Mickey Mote also makes a fun and unique gift for preschoolers.
