Dr. Seuss' The Lorax is available now on DVD/Blu-ray/Blu-ray 3D/Digital Download. This movie is such a great title for kids, and perfect for a movie party, book club activity (compare the book and movie) or as a reward for learning to read the book. You can also compare this movie version to the original cartoon version of The Lorax and other Dr. Seuss stories on DVD or Blu-ray.

Obviously, the movie looks great on Blu-ray. We still haven't made the jump to 3D, so I really missed the added dimension during the floating marshmallow scene, but the colors are brilliant. The Blu-ray includes 3 mini movies. The minis are super short, but the kids loved them and laughed at the silly antics of the Bar-ba-loots and Humming Fish.

Our favorite feature is the "Expedition of Truffula Valley," which has enough interactive content to keep the kids busy for quite a while. The "How to Draw" segments included in the expedition are some of the most well done I've seen as far as visual appeal and clarity. Even my 4-year-old was able to follow the instructions and make a pretty decent Bar-ba-loot. The kids also liked the three games included on the Blu-ray, though I'm almost never a big fan of DVD/Blu-ray games, and those included on this Blu-ray don't really stand out.

With all of the bonus features, games, the audio commentary and the O'Hare Air version of the movie, this Blu-ray packs literally hours of content that kids will enjoy. In fact, I don't see my kids getting tired of exploring this world any time in the near future. The bright colors and whimsy of Truffula valley, not to mention the adorable characters, attract kids like flies to honey. What I'm loving, is that the bonus features have inspired my kids to draw, create, rhyme and come up with stories and settings of their own.
