Monsters for Christmas

By December 21, 2012

This Christmas, the slate of new movies is dominated by epic adventures and action movies that aren't so little kid friendly, but there is one film opening this week that's kid safe and a time tested classic: Disney/Pixar's Monsters, Inc. is back on the big screen today in 3D.

The thought of something lurking under the bed or hiding in a closet can make it hard for kids to fall asleep. But, the hilarious and colorful friends in Monsters, Inc. showed us all that the whole hiding under the bed and jumping out at night thing was just a big misunderstanding. And now, our Monster friends are inviting us right into their world. The 3D version of the movie has Monsters fans feeling like they could just get up from their theater seat and walk right into the bustling world of Monstropolis.

And, since the Pixar prequel Monsters University comes out next year, it's the perfect time to introduce young kids to the furry characters of Monster's, Inc. The prequel takes us back to how it all began, when Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan were in their crazy college days and had to overcame their differences before they became the best of friends. Monsters University is set to open June 21, 2013.
