Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant), John is always the new kid with no ties to his past. I Am Number Four - The Novel
The movie I Am Number Four is based on the book by Pittacus Lore. Actually, Pittacus Lore is supposedly an Elder from the planet Lorien, documenting the struggles of The Nine who come to Earth from Lorien to escape an overwhelming enemy. In reality, though, the subject of who actually wrote the books is a bit controversial, but it is widely claimed that the book was written by authors Jobie Hughes and James Frey. The second book in the series, The Power of Six, is scheduled to be released in September, 2011.
