Musical influences: Powerhouse artists like Aretha Franklin and Roberta Flack, Etta James
Acting influences: Cameron Diaz and Angela Jolie, because they each have unique qualities that can't be copied.
On work ethic...Whenever I had to work for stuff...and tried to earn it more, that's when I really appreciated it more.
On the movie wardrobe...The outfits that my character wore were a little bit more crazier than what I would wear. I'm not that much of a bright colored type of girl.
...Nothing was really bad, which is what's great about this movie. Nothing had anything provocative in it or anything that my mom wouldn't want me to wear.
On Roxie and the message of the movie...My character Roxie, we really come together as one when she comes back to her home town and gains all this confidence in herself, and really finds herself, and speaks to being who she is no matter what anybody tries to tell her.
Her message is really good in this movie. It's really great for girls. She starts at the beginning of the movie as this not confident, people-pleasing type of girl...but she goes back to her home town, and she realizes that she can be who she wants to be, and everything will work out in the end.
If you had to be a different character in the film, who would you be?Either Tyler or Trevor's role (Cyrus or Kris)
What is it like to be a role model for kids?I think it's really good. Because, especially for girls, there's not anymore a lot of role models. One person that I know is a really good role model is Selena Gomez, and one thing that I like about her, is she's always going to be herself, even though sometimes in this business people try to put you in a box or tell you who you have to be, you can always be yourself. And, she's one of those people who's really stuck to being herself.
In one word, how did you feel watching yourself in the movie for the first time?Surreal
