Inspired by the rich culture and beauty of his home town, Brazilian Carlos Saldanha (Ice Age movies, Robots) came up with a story and created a movie which renders the beautiful beaches, lush rainforest, and "marvelous city" to animated life in his love letter to Rio. Pictured here, Carlos is surrounded by his fine feathered friends and a slobbery yet loveable dog from the movie Rio.

That all-star voice cast of course includes some serious musical talent. Carlos brought Jaime Foxx and Will.i.am together along with many other musical talents, all working on the music of the film under the guidance of Brazilian music legend Sergio Mendes. Carlos even convinced Anne Hathaway and George Lopez to croon a couple of tunes in the film. The music provides a varied festive beat that brings cohesion to the movie and enhances the lively action and colorful characters.
