Again, I used the Cricut (die cut machine, view and compare prices here) to create this "Baby Boy" banner (Life's a Beach cartridge) for a Baby Einstein shower themed around the Neptune's Ocean DVD discovery kit. I loved the ocean theme for a baby shower, and the Baby Einstein DVD has great characters as well that are easy to copy for shower decorations. Since I love using TV and movies as ideas for party themes, I thought it would be fun to do a themed baby shower as well to show how easy it is to recreate the mood at home.

After cutting out the banner pieces, characters and letters using my die cut machine, I used 3D stickers to attach the decorations to the banners. This gives the banner a lot of dimension that doesn't come through as much in the pictures, but does create a lot of interest. I shaded the letters to make them pop out more against the life preservers they are floating on. I also added googly eyes to the little animal characters. Little tufts of seaweed really set the mood and set off the color scheme of the blues with pops of red and yellow.

If you don't have a Cricut, don't worry. You can check party and craft stores as well as teacher supply stores for pre-cut animals and shapes to go along with your ocean theme. Or, try a different creative method such as sea themed stencils or rubber stamping. Then, just use rope to string the banner pieces together, add some tulle and ribbon ties for more texture, and you're done! I also used cheap decorative nets from the party store for a backdrop and also on the table with the diaper cake center piece.
