Blue's Room - Overview
Blue's Room is a spin-off of the long-running show Blue's Clues, and stars the same loveable puppy, Blue. In Blue's Room, however, Blue is a puppet who can talk. The show also stars Joe, Blue's familiar friend, and Blue's little brother, Sprinkles.
Each episode of Blue's Room takes place in Blue's room, where Blue, Sprinkles and Joe interact with viewing children in a fun and educational play date. Other friends who are often invited to play are Blue's playroom friends Frederica and Roar E. Saurus.
Blue's Room - Curriculum Overview
The educational goals of Blue's Room focus on early literacy skills. These skills are promoted through talking, reading, writing, pretending and playing. Viewing children are encouraged to interact with the show through talking with Blue and participating in play-along games.Blue's Room - Guide Review
The original series, Blue's Room is one of the longest running and most well known TV shows to incorporate the current interactive standard for preschoolers' television. The Blue's Clues format - collecting three clues from Blue and putting them together to figure out the answer to a question - engages kids' in problem solving in a way that no other show has been able to equal.
Blue's Room also incorporates some problem solving, but the show is more focused on building early literacy and other academic preschool skills. Blue's Room is fun, has a great format and lovable characters, and is effective in carrying out the outlined educational goals. So, while it is not as unique as the original Blue's Clues, kids will love Blue's Room and I am sure parents will too.
