Cars (2006) - Guide Review
Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is a little red race car who is really going places. His victories have been big, but his dreams are even bigger. Soon, he's going to win the Piston Cup, dump his lousy sponsor, and become a racing star.
While on his way to the big race though, a turn of events finds Lightning stuck in the sleepy town of Radiator Springs, just off of Route 66. He accidentally damages a road that runs through the town, and Lightning is sentenced to repair the road before he can leave.

At first, Lightning's big dream is the only thing that is important, and the backwoods townspeople are the annoying obstacles standing in his way. Inevitably though, he gets to know the other cars and the forgotten town that had once been a highway hot spot. An enlightening stop off the beaten path helps Lightning see that maybe there is something bigger than the Piston Cup.
Cars has a fresh new set of characters and a whole new story to add to the Disney treasure box. The cast of personified cars are a CG animation masterpiece. The biggest complaint being thrown at the movie is that it slowed down way too much in the middle. While it did drag a bit, the material was valuable to the story. With fun characters, a strong, well-delivered moral, and a great soundtrack, this unique film is a classic many people won't mind slowing down for at all.
Cars (2006) - Note to Parents
The story and accompanying life lesson Cars conveys are even better than the eye-catching animation. In the beginning of the movie, Lightning does exhibit prideful and disrespectful behavior though. Also, the word "hell" is used one time. I think the line was just so funny that they had to leave it in, but the phrase is practically guaranteed to be repeated by kids.*For a more detailed list of possibly offensive or scary content, see the Cars movie rating.
