Caught in the Moment - Overview

In Caught in the Moment, Tristan Bayer and Vanessa Garnick travel the world in search of rare and amazing animals. With Cameras in hand, the two wildlife enthusiasts will stop at nothing in their quest to find and film natures most fascinating creatures.

Both Tristan and Vanessa are avid conservationists, and their love of nature as well as their desire to preserve it are evident in every episode. In gathering footage of animals and their environments, Tristan and Vanessa put together a conservation music video of the area and animals that is shown at the end of the episode.

Caught in the Moment - Guide Review for Parents and Teachers

Caught in the Moment is both educational and fun for children and adults alike. Obviously skilled and very knowledgeable, Tristan and Vanessa hunt down and shoot (using film and a camera of course!) incredible animals all over the world. The animals themselves are captivating, but the added commentary and insight from Tristan and Vanessa, chalk full of facts and interesting information, really make the show as fun as it is educational.

while the two nature-loving stars of the show often express their conservationist viewpoints, they do so in a way that is non-judgemental and tolerant. Tristan and Vanessa convey a deep love and admiration for the beautiful animals and habitats they film. In their work to save and preserve nature, they seem to hope for solutions that work to the advantage of both the animals and the humans who live and work around them.

The content of Caught in the Moment focuses on filming animals in their natural habitats, and thus some footage may be shown of animals eating their pray (such as a bear eating a fish), but should not otherwise be scary or unsettling to children. The content is child-friendly but not edited specifically for children, so show dialogue could include phrases using "God" (such as "Oh my God"), but the dialogue is not derogatory and the use of such terms seems very limited.
