Saturday morning television has long been a weekend ritual for kids, and many stations devote a portion of the Saturday morning TV block to kids' cartoons and programs. The CBS programming block, known as "KOLs Secret Slumber Party On CBS," offers a range of programming targeted at kids ages 6 through 12, and hosted by the Slumber Party Girls.
The Slumber Party Girls talk about the usual teenage stuff, like boys and homework, but they also act as role models who make positive choices about leading a healthy lifestyle. In addition to the Slumber Party Girls, the CBS Saturday morning line-up includes the following shows:
- Madeline (TV-Y ages 5-7): Based on Ludwig Bemelmans' classic books, Madeline follows the adventures of a capricious young French girl and her friends.
- Sabrina (TV-Y7, ages 7-12): a companion to the series Sabrina: The Teenage Witch,, this animated series follows Sabrina Spellman, a cute 12-year-old with a big heart and an even bigger secret: she's half mortal and half witch.
- Trollz (TV-Y7, ages 8-12): The animated adventures of five trolls, best friends who live by the credo B.F.F.L., Best Friends for Life. The storylines deal with common teenage issues such as popularity, love, loyalty, identity and integrity. But, they are also interested in fashion, hair, malls, "spell phones," magic, parties and all the fun that goes with being a teen.
- Horseland (TV-Y7, ages 9-11): Featuring CGI and traditional animation, Horseland is set in a stable where kids and their talking horses ride and compete. Each episode features themes that deal with issues such as compassion, honesty and cooperation.
- Cake (TV-Y7, ages 8-12): A show within a show, Cake is about a teenaged girl who hosts a cable access show, Cake TV. Along with her friends, Cake shows her audience how to take every day items and make them extraordinary.
- Dance Revolution! (TV-Y7, ages 8-12): Inspired by the popular video game, Dance, Dance Revolution!, the TV show is a dance competition. Dancers compete in teams of two, working to create innovative and creative dance routines.
