Characters are key in Disney's CG-animated educational series for preschoolers, Handy Manny. While many other shows focus on teaching kids measurable skills like math and literacy, Handy Manny focuses on problems solving, humor, and interpersonal relationships. From Manny's cool and relaxed approach to the tools' child-like quirks, the characters' personalities each play a role in storylines designed to teach kids about how to get along in life and with others.

Handy Manny Characters

Manny: (voiced by Wilmer Valderrama) The main character of the show, Handy Manny, owns a repair shop in the quiet and friendly town of Sheetrock Hills. Manny is an easy-going, caring, and happy guy who is always ready to help out his friends. His subtle Latino accent has a soothing effect, which is especially important when he has to teach and guide "las herramientas" – his trusty tools.

Manny is like a father figure to his anthropomorphic set of tools. Each tool has a unique personality and set of strengths and weaknesses. It is often through the tool characters that the show presents lessons and morals about relating to others and overcoming challenges.

Felipe: (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui) An ambitious Phillips screwdriver, Felipe is sometimes a bit competitive with Turner, the slotted screwdriver. Since Felipe is a specialized tool, he feels left out when jobs come up where he is not need as much.

Turner: (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) Turner the slotted screwdriver tries to be the strong, stern type. He wants to be the man for the job, and can sometimes be a little grouchy, especially if the job calls for a Phillips screwdriver.

Stretch: (voiced by Nika Futterman) Although he is child-like and unassuming, Stretch the tape measure is a bit of a perfectionist. Stretch generally thinks things through to try and understand the consequences when he is trying to come up with a good solution to a problem.

Squeeze: (also voiced by Nika Futterman) Squeeze is a curious pair of pliers who loves life and anything that is "cute."

Pat: (voiced by Tom Kenny) A hammer has to be right on the mark. Pat is always the last to get a joke, but even though he fumbles through life a little, he never misses when it comes to getting the job done.

Dusty: (voiced by Kath Soucie) Dusty the saw is warm-hearted, maternal, and very devoted.

Rusty: (voiced by Fred Stroller) Rusty is a wrench who is a bit fearful and likes to follow the rules.

Flicker: (voiced by Grey Delisle) A young flashlight who is just learning to speak English, Flicker's ability to light things up is a helpful ability for his curious nature.

Kelly: (voiced by Nancy Truman) Manny and his tools frequent the hardware store run by Kelly. She is friendly and knowledgeable, and she is always willing to help others.

Mr. Lopart: (voiced by Tom Kenny): Mr. Lopart runs the candy store next door to Manny’s repair shop. While he is a nice guy, Mr. Lopart does not like to accept help, and his know-it-all ways sometimes get him into trouble.
