Imagination Movers: Warehouse Mouse Edition - Overview

Scott Durbin, Rich Collins, Dave Poche, and Scott "Smitty" Smith are part of a rockin' band from New Orleans called the Imagination Movers. In this live-action series, the Movers hang out in their "Idea Warehouse," where they like to make music and solve "idea emergencies." The Movers model problem solving skills for preschoolers and stress the importance of never giving up. The Warehouse Mouse Edition DVD features the following four episodes:

  • "Bucket Trouble": The Movers want to make a commercial, but first they have to figure out how to get Rich's foot out of a bucket.
  • "Tooth Hurts": Warehouse Mouse has a terrible tooth ache, but he is too afraid to go to the dentist. The Imagination Movers use their imaginations and attempt to get him into the dentist chair.
  • "Whose Afraid of the Big Bad Mouse": When a guest is afraid of Warehouse Mouse, the Movers have to figure out a way to help him overcome his fear.
  • "Finders Key-Pers": A lost key is no problem for the Imagination Movers and their brainstorming ways.

Imagination Movers: Warehouse Mouse Edition - Guide Review

It isn't hard to see why kids love the Imagination Movers. They are fun, energetic and animated. Not only that, but they play upbeat rock music perfectly geared toward kids. Although, parents seem to enjoy the tunes as well. Imagination Movers fans will not be disappointed in the music and the whimsical episodes featured on the Warehouse Mouse Edition DVD, which have the Movers hanging out in their magical bubble garden, attempting to capture poor Warehouse Mouse, calming the fears of a TV repairman and more.

Other than the four episodes, the first Disney DVD featuring the Imagination Movers doesn't contain anything extra special. The bonus feature is an episode of another show, Special Agent Oso. The episodes on the DVD will entertain kids, though, and they are educational in the sense that in each episode, the Movers clearly and effectively model problem solving and thinking skills that will help kids better understand what to do when they have a "situation that needs imagination."

Imagination Movers: Warehouse Mouse Edition - Expand Upon the Curriculum

  • The Movers decide to make a commercial to tell people about how they solve "idea emergencies." Talk to your kids about what a commercial is and the purpose behind commercials. Challenge kids to make up their own commercial for a product they love or one they want to invent.
  • Kids love bubbles, and they will be extra excited by the Movers' bubble garden. Create your own bubble garden by blowing bubbles outside, and a fun game can become a great learning opportunity. Talk about the shape of the bubbles. Compare the sizes of different bubbles, or count how many bubbles come from one dip of the bubble wand. How does the amount of bubbles produced change if you blow really hard or really soft? Why?
