Every year, Nickelodeon gives kids a chance to express their opinions with the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Kids vote for their favorites from categories pertaining to movies, music, sports, and other entertainment. Nickelodeon then announces the winners during the annual awards show, which features a lot of celebrities, pranks, and buckets of slime.
This year, 2008, the awards show will be hosted by Jack Black, who also hosted the slimy ceremony in 2006. Star-studded performances will feature artists such as Miley Cyrus and The Naked Brothers Band, and celebs like Cameron Diaz, Steve Carell, Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Chris Brown, and Hayden Panettiere will make appearances and hand out awards.
Considering the age demographics of Nickelodeon viewers - the most populous demographic group being kids ages 6-11 - the Kids' Choice Awards are an interesting commentary on today's youth and what they are watching and listening to.
