Every year, Nickelodeon gives kids a chance to express their opinions with the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Kids vote for their favorites from categories pertaining to movies, music, sports, and other entertainment. Nickelodeon then announces the winners during the annual awards show, which features a lot of celebrities, pranks, and buckets of slime.
Nickelodeon’s 22nd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, airing Saturday, March 28 (8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT),was hosted by the awesome Dwayne Johnson. He may not be quite as comedic and silly as Jack Black, who hosted last year, but "The Rock" is definitely a winner with kids and parents alike. He adds an element of action to the awards show, which takes place just after the opening of Johnson's new movie, Race to Witch Mountain.
The always star-studded event was graced this year by Hugh Jackman, Amy Adams, George Lopez, Keke Palmer, Robert Pattinson, Queen Latifah, Amy Poehler, Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron and Nat and Alex Wolff. Also, the Jonas Brothers (hot on the heels of the release of their 3D Concert movie and just about to premiere the new JONAS TV series) performed. Kids enjoy seeing their favorite performers put on a show and announce the award winners, especially because it's kids' own votes that were counted.
