Question: What if I Disagree with the MPAA?
Answer:

If you see a movie which you believe received an inappropriate rating, you can contact CARA, the Classification and Rating Administration, using the contact information provided on the official CARA website. The ratings board is a service that is by parents and for parents, so it is important that, as a parent, you are able to utilize the ratings in making movie choices for your children.

In order to ensure the best possible rating system, the Classification and Rating Administration (CARA, the MPAA board that rates movies) is made up of a diverse group of parents who attempt to rate films based on what they feel most American parents would rate the movies. Also, the MPAA conducts a yearly scientific poll to ensure that parents are finding the MPAA ratings to be useful in making decisions about which movies are appropriate for kids to see.
