Captain Barbossa: (Geoffrey Rush) The dreaded pirate Barbossa was captain of the Black Pearl after he lead an uprising against Captain Jack Sparrow. In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, we learned of his treachery, and also that he and his crew had been cursed; they had become undead, turning into hideous skeletal creatures in the moon light and unable to be killed. They could not enjoy any of the pleasures of the living.
After Barbossa and his ghostly crew finally fulfilled the requirements to end the curse, Jack Sparrow killed Barbossa. Later, we find that Tia Dalma had used her voodoo magic to bring Barbossa back form the dead. In Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Barbossa joins Will and Elizabeth on their quest to save Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' Locker, but his trustworthiness is questionable.
