While the computer animation and computer generated music in Rock 'N Learn: Letter Sounds may not seem as high in quality as DVDs from the big name companies, the DVD looks much better than many similar DVDs I have seen. The characters are very colorful and fun for kids, and the letters and words are large and clear.
The games at the end of the letter presentation really make this DVD stand out. Kids can practice recalling the sounds for each letter, and they will see the letters used in words and sentences. The DVD also contains segments about reading, word building and using words in a sentence. The DVD is educationally intensive, but will likely be able to retain the attention of kids who recognize letters and are ready to begin the next steps in reading. The DVD is also easy to watch in segments in order to focus on certain skills. Rock 'N Learn: Letter Sounds is a great supplement to kids' reading education and makes TV time productive as well as fun.
