SpongeBob vs. the Big One - Overview
In the title episode, SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends head up to the beach for some fun, but the group is separated and everyone becomes lost. SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward discover the only way back from the island they landed on is to find surf legend Jack Kahuna Laguna (voiced by Johnny Depp) and surf The Big One.
Sandy, on the other hand, is stranded on the other side of the island and gets busy building a helicopter. Meanwhile, Mr. Krabs is being harassed by the Flying Dutchman -- that is until the grumpy ghost lands in Davy Jones' (the one from the Monkeys) locker. Will the pals ever get back to their paradise under the sea?
The DVD also includes the following episodes:
- A Life in a Day
- Sun Bleached
- Giant Squidward
- No Nose Knows
- Patty Caper
- Plankton's Regular
SpongeBob vs. the Big One - Guide Review
SpongeBob, Johnny Depp, and Davy Jones -- what a mix! Johnny Depp voices the buffed out, barely dressed surfer dude Jack Kahuna Laguna, but I would never have realized it was him if I hadn't known it before hand. SpongeBob fans will get a kick out of the adventurous episode and the famous guest stars, who make the episode a must-own for devoted SpongeBob followers. Parents will also be pleased, as the episode contains no rude words or inappropriate jokes. (A surfer dude calls SpongeBob and his friends "Hodads," but don't worry, the term is surfer lingo for dudes who hang out at the beach but can't surf.)
