How to Throw a Backyardigans Birthday Party

The Backyardigans party supplies are now available. You can find party packs at BirthdayExpress.com, and they are available to ship beginning August 18, 2006. Here are some additional ideas for planning a super cool Backyardigans birthday. Most of the items mentioned are available from allaboard toys. In addition to a brightly colored Backyardigans theme, you could also theme the party after a specific episode. If you want to do everything easily and online, the Oriental Trading Company sells party supplies in a variety of themes. Examples of possible themes are listed in the last section of this article.

Start with Nick Jr.

Nickjr.com has a section devoted to making a Backyardigans Western Party. Even if you don't want to do the western theme, there are ideas and printables that can get you started on the Backyardigans themed party. In addition, Nick Jr. has several printables and activities on the Backyardigans home page.

Backyardigans Party Decorations

• Plates, Napkins, cups, etc.: Backyardigans party supplies are now available, but you can also find reusable items. Nickelodeon does sell a Backyardigans 3PC Dinnerware Set, so you could use this for the birthday child. The set is very cute and of course, reusable. Allaboardtoys.com also offers plates, water bottles, and other Backyardigans dinnerware. Stickers in the Backyardigans sticker book available on Amazon could also be used to decorate brightly colored plates, cups, and napkins.
• Decorations:
  • In addition to hanging brightly colored balloons and streamers, you could hang a couple of the velvet posters available from allaboardtoys.com. The posters are easy to color with the included magic pen.
  • Backyardigans plush toys would make an adorable decoration to set next to the cake or in other areas around the room. They are expensive, but you may be able to check ebay or another discount site, and if you were planning to buy the birthday child a Backyardigans toy anyway it can also serve to decorate.
  • Backyardigans Adventures Coloring Mats are inexpensive and could be used to decorate each place setting and as a party favor.

• Backyardigans books and coloring books are fun and not too expensive. A coloring book with a small box of crayons makes a great party favor for kids of all ages.

• Backyardigans DVDs: Watch a great Backyardigans DVD, or just have it on in the background for ambiance. The DVDs also make great gifts for birthday Backyardigan fans.
