The Berenstain Bears - Guide Review
There is something to be said about stories that have been around for 40 years and are still pertinent and entertaining to kids today. Watching The Berenstain Bears -- with its emphasis on old fashion country values, family, and community -- is like a breath of fresh air in today's world. The themes and stories in The Berenstain Bears series take me back to when I was a kid, and they remind me to make time to create similar memories for my own children.
This show isn't as flashy as other more recent preschoolers' fare, but kids will still sit and watch it all day long if you let them! Kids relate to the lessons learned by brother and sister bear, and I love the way that brother and sister relate to each other. Yes, they have arguments and fights like all siblings do, but the show manages to present their tiffs in such a benign fashion, and they always work things out so sweetly in the end. The Berenstain Bears help kids think about and solve some of life's problems, and the show's innocence portrays the wonder of just being a kid.
