The Cheetah Girls One World - Summary

The Cheetah Girls musical group -- Chanel, Aqua, and Dorinda -- are struggling to find gigs, especially without their fabulous fourth Cheetah, Galleria, who is away at school. Just when they are about to thrown in their microphones and focus on other objectives, an exciting opportunity comes their way. Aspiring director director Vikram "Vik" Bhatia offers them a chance to be in his new Hollywood movie...oh, he actually said Bollywood, well, they decide to go for it anyway.

When they arrive in India Cheetahs are extactic to see that their co-star is a famous Bollywood hunk. This could really be their big chance! But, their dreams are all but shattered when they learn that there is actually only one part available, and the Cheetah's will be expected to compete against each other!

A surprising encounter puts Aqua in prime position to get the part, but Chanel's budding romance with Vik and Dorinda's agreement to help out the Bollywood heartthrob even the score. When all is said and done, it looks as though only won Cheetah can win this time, if there are any winners at all.

The Cheetah Girls One World - Guide Review for Parents

The Cheetah Girls One World doesn't really measure up to past Cheetah movies, and it isn't just Galleria's notable absence that pulls the movie down. The story feels contrived, and it is pathetically unrealistic. Yes, I know these kinds of movies aren't known for the realism, but One World is beyond far-fetched, and why do the Cheetah's go running off to a foreign country with some unknown producer without checking a single fact first? Their example in this movie does not send a good message to kids, especially those star struck tweens who are actually acting on their dreams of making it big just like their favorite Disney stars.

Not only do the Cheetahs run off to India without any knowledge of the people they will be working with or the script they will be expected to follow, but one Cheetah girl miraculously runs into a guy she has talked to on the phone/internet, whom we find out she has never actually met before. Despite the fact that she barely knows him, she has no problem running off on a date with him -- in a foreign country no less.

The movie involves a lot of discussion about boys and relationships, but physical displays of affection are limited to holding hands, hugs, and one kiss on the lips. A couple of scenes also involve a little bit of bickering or cattiness between the Cheetahs and between the Cheetahs and the movie choreographer, but their differences are resolved quite amicably. Overall, the movie does set out to convey a positive moral about staying true to your friends and to your dreams, but the delivery is simply uninspiring.

The Cheetah Girls One World - Discuss the Movie

  • Chanel, Aqua and Dorinda travel to India to star in a Bollywood movie. What information should they have gotten before hand? Are people who work in the movie and music industries always who they say they are? What are the dangers of accepting a part in a movie without reading the script first?
  • What are some good rules to follow when talking to unfamiliar people over the Internet or on the phone? What should you do if someone you have spoken with on the phone or chatted with on the Internet wants to meet you?
  • What does "loyalty" mean, and why is it important to be a loyal friend?
  • Some of the characters express that it is hard to work in Bollywood. What does it mean to have integrity in dealings with others, and how do the Cheetahs show integrity, or lack of it, in the movie?
