Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.
Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film The Last Airbender is the opening chapter in Aang's struggle to survive.
The Last Airbender - About the TV Series
The movie The Last Airbender is based on the popular Nickelodeon animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The fantasy series truly takes kids to another world - a spiritual, magical world where Earth, Air, Water and Fire nations used to live in harmony, until the day the Fire Nation attacked, wiping out the Air Nation.
Only the Avatar, who is a master of all four elements, can offer any hope of bringing peace to the war-torn world now. The story follows the new Avatar, a 12-year-old Airbender boy named Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen), as he grapples with his need to help bring peace to the world and his desire to be a regular kid. Each chapter episode of the series carries the viewer deeper into the compelling saga as Aang and his friends fight to restore order and defeat the Fire Nation. The entire Avatar: The Last Airbender series aired on Nickelodeon and is now available on DVD.
