Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue - Overview
It's summertime, and the nature fairies, along with Tinker Bell, Clank, Bobble and Terrance, are on the mainland helping nature along. Always one to let curiosity get the better of her, Tink goes exploring a little to close to the humans. Tink's careless behavior enrages Vidia, who takes it upon herself to teach Tink a little lesson. But, when her harmelss little teaching moment goes terribly wrong, Tink ends up being captured.
As Vidia and the other fairies emark on a treacherous rescue mission, Tinker Bell gets to know the charming little English girl who inadvertantly caught herself a real fairy. Lizzy, who has always maintained a steadfast belief in fairies despite her father's scientific objections, is thrilled to finally meet the real thing. Lizzy and Tinker Bell become fast friends, so when Tink sees that Lizzy has a disheartening problem of her own, Tink risks everything to help her. With the future of fairykind haning in the balance, the fairies have only each other and the courage of one little girl to rely on. Each other, plus a little faith, trust and pixie dust.
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue - Guide Review
While the fallish Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure is still our family favorite, the summertime story of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue presents an enchanting tale as well, and it is sure to delight young fairy fans. In Tinker Bell's sweet friendship with Lizzy, the story fulfills every little girl's dream of meeting a real, live fairy of her own. The movie excels with colorful and fanciful animation, a solid storyline, and a positive overall message -- qualities which make the Disney Fairies franchise stand out as one of the best ever delivered to young children.
Set in the lovely English countryside, the quaint surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for a fairy adventure. As in the other Tinker Bell movies, the animation surpasses imagination, and the grand adventure is perfectly suited to grip young viewers with a story that's right at their level. Young children will easily identify with little Lizzy -- her love of fairies, her desire for her father's attention, and her dismay at his disappointment -- and kids will learn about honesty and friendship, as even Vidia fesses up and tells the truth about her less than kind actions.
Truly, I look forward to the new Tinker Bell movies as much as my little girls do. I know that kids today are used to seeing amazing and magical worlds come to life, but I can't help but think about how much I would have loved the lush and whimsical world of the Disney Fairies if they had been around when I was a little girl.
