TMNT is the fourth movie in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series (the previous movie came out in 1993). The concept started out as a comic book which was published by Mirage Studios in 1984. The original artists came up with the Ninja Turtles and published the comic book to parody two other comics, but the idea turned into a huge success with a line of toys, an animated series, and now four theatrical releases.
