In this day and age when children's health is such a hot topic of discussion, I am continually surprised by the lack of DVDs which address the subject fully. If You Don't Take Care of Your Body, Where Else Are You Going to Live? says a lot to kids with just the title of the DVD, and the content helps kids see the benefit of both exercise and healthy eating.
Created for kids ages six and up, the cartoon shows a lot of examples of kids who are doing things like watching TV and playing video games instead of going out and doing more physical activities. The main characters learn that they have to make a conscious choice to get up and get moving in order to maintain a healthy and able body. It is a sad commentary on our technological society, but it is truly the case. TV and video games can suck the life out of kids as they play games that make hours go by like minutes. They have to decide to turn it off and be active. Trevor's DVD makes this point clearly as he teaches Jack, Skye and Darryl that with the body, if you don't use it, you lose it.

While it may not be the movie kids six and older want to watch over and over, the DVD speaks to their level and delivers a clear and relevant message in a fun way.
