Up tells the story of 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who in a determined effort to defy his helpless senior citizen status and fulfill a lifelong dream, ties thousands of balloons to his house and floats away to South America. Soon after his remarkable lift-off, Carl finds that he has a stowaway: an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell.
