Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! - Overview
Wubbzy, an optimistic and playful little guy, lives in a geometrically unique animated town called Wuzzleburg. Wuzzleburg is much different than our own world, but in many ways it is also the same. Wubbzy loves to spend his days playing kickity-kickball, chasing flutterflys, and having fun, but he sometimes runs into challenges that require the help of his two best friends. Widget, a mechanical whiz who loves building and fixing things, and Walden, a bookish and quirky intellectual, look at things in different ways. The three friends’ personalities complement each other whether they are solving a problem or just playing.
Created for children ages 2-5, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!’s core focus is using humor both to entertain and to provide examples of how humor can help in solving problems and in just coping with every day life. The Show also promotes preschool social skills such as sharing, listening, compromising, helping and appreciating others.
Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! - Guide Review
Preschoolers will love the colors and funky animation of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! The characters are innocent and adorable, and the story lines are fun, always incorporating a simple, good message for kids.
The show is not as saturated with educational material as most preschoolers' shows are. The focus of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! on humor, both to entertain and to teach kids coping skills, gives kids a chance to relax and enjoy watching the quirky characters in silly situations that are similar to what they might experience themselves. Because the stories are told in a simple manner that reaches children on their level, they can also pick up on some of the social aspects such as sharing, being supportive, and handling disappointment.
Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! - Expand Upon the Curriculum
- Try using humor throughout the day in different situations. Especially when trying to correct kids' behavior, humor can break down defensive attitudes and be an effective method of getting kids to do something or change their attitudes. Find a way to laugh with kids about mistakes they make, and then move on with a positive "let's try again!"
- Give kids some art materials and have them create a funky world of their own. They will get some ideas from the town of "Wuzzleburg," and they may even come up with something all their own.
