My Review
So, first the cons of this movie. I didn't like how a lot of the movie was about revenge. I know Romeo and Juliet has revenge so you expect a little with this, but my 8 year old got upset when the scary lawnmower destroyed everything. Also, some of the humor was over my children's heads, and I had to explain why I was laughing. Now the pros! I liked that they kept everything funny. Even the payback had it's light hearted humor. I also appreciated how everything was resolved in the end so that everyone could live together in harmony. It sends the message that we should put our differences aside and we can all be happy. It was able to keep my 8, 6, and 4 year old entertained through the entire thing.
Would you recommend this movie for kids?
I would recommend this movie for kids! I think it is important to explain to them that you can't resolve conflict with revenge afterward though. Young kids will enjoy the Gnomes that come alive when no one's looking, and funny characters. The older kids will enjoy the humor and suspense.
